Barry Gibbon is a keen tramper and passionate resident of Waiuku. He has chaired the Franklin Local Board’s Waiuku Trails Project Committee he has worked closely with local iwi, residents, businesses, contractors and council staff to get everybody’s support for the trails.
These walking and cycling trails will add to the Waiuku community.
They will provide residents and visitors with the opportunity to walk safely in and around the township, experiencing the history and culture on offer.
The Waiuku Trails will link the foreshore area, open space, esplanade reserves, parks and residential streets with key destinations and the heart of Waiuku town centre itself.
