Turn the Easter/ANZAC holidays into a chance for students to win

Your students have been away for the Easter and ANZAC Day holidays. They’ve visited amazing places and seen amazing things. So, while those adventures are fresh in their memories get them to enter our Top Outdoor Spot Competition.  

The Top Outdoor Spot competition, held annually, invites students from around New Zealand to share their favourite outdoor place in art, writing or photos. It encourages students to think about their place in the environment and how to behave responsibly and respectfully in the outdoors. 

The competition runs throughout terms 1 and 2 and encourages school children to send in a photo, artwork or short poem/story of their favourite outdoor spot, and what makes it special, for the chance to win. The top three entries in each category - Best Photo, Best Art and Best Story or Poem - will win a prize pack for themselves and/or their school. Prizes from competition sponsors Kiwi Camping,  Potton and Burton and  Skellerup include an EPE Cloud Adventure Day Pack with Koru sleeping bag, emergency blanket, emergency poncho, Dynamo LED torch, Kubb game, towelling hat, and bird stickers, and Skellerup Red Band gumboots. 

The school of the winning student also receives a copy of Animals of Aotearoa, by Gillian Candler and illustrated by Ned Barraud, and a $300 voucher for a class or school field trip to a nearby outdoor walk or trail plus trip advice from a local Walking Access Commission Regional Field Advisor.
