National Forum held in Wellington

Representatives from 19 recreational and landholder organisations converged on Wellington on 26 March to discuss access issues at the New Zealand Walking Access Commission's National Forum.

The forum was a chance for stakeholders to share their thoughts on the Commission's work and to air their concerns about any on-going public access issues in New Zealand.

Commission Chairman John Forbes said it he was pleased to see many stalwarts and a good number of new faces and organisations at this year's forum to discuss topics of real interest to them.

“It's clear that, while there has been significant progress towards enhancing access into the outdoors, there's still much to do.â€
