Interactive map shows hundreds of access cases across New Zealand

The New Zealand Walking Access Commission has developed an interactive map that displays more than 800 access-related cases it has been involved in around the country.

The web map highlights just some of the more than 3,000 cases the Commission has worked on since 2011

Chief executive Eric Pyle said the map would help raise awareness of the Commission's work.

“The map gives the public a clearer picture of what it is we do. It also illustrates the breadth of our presence.

“Our primary aim is to promote access to the outdoors, in a way that is respectful. We need to make the most of what New Zealand has to offer, but we also need to take care of our environment and be considerate of others.â€
