A free quick-reference calendar displaying common New Zealand farming, fishing and hunting seasons is now available for download from the New Zealand Walking Access Commission's website.

The calendar has been jointly developed by the Commission, Fish & Game New Zealand and Federated Farmers New Zealand. It shows seasonal events of interest to farmers and outdoor enthusiasts on one double-sided page. Farming seasons shown on the calendar include breeding season for bulls, calving, cattle droving, grain and seed harvesting and lambing. Hunting and fishing seasons shown include game bird hunting, freshwater fishing, whitebaiting and the roar hunting season.

New Zealand Walking Access Commission Chief Executive Mark Neeson said the calendar was a simple and easy to use resource that would help increase mutual understanding between urban and rural New Zealanders.
