The application deadline for the first annual J H Aspinall Scholarship closes later this month.

The $5,000 scholarship supports research into public access and New Zealand's farming heritage, is open to applicants currently enrolled in an Honours, Masters or Doctoral programme at a New Zealand university.

The scholarship was founded in honour of the contributions of the late John Aspinall and the Aspinall family, well known for allowing up to 80,000 people each year to cross their family farm – Mount Aspiring Station.

It also highlights the value and public good that comes from building understanding between rural and urban New Zealand.
