Waimarama
Speeding across the wet sand on the quad bike makes me feel free.
I look out into the golden sunset it reminds me of a vibrant flame.
Bumpity bump bump goes the rusty old trailer on the sandy rocks as we ride on the way back from fishing.
Fumes of the revolting carrion from all of the bait and fish we had just caught with the Kontiki, smell like 5 million rotten eggs.
Salty seawater is like a mist making its way into my mouth.
I like hearing the crabs in the back of the rusty old trailer. It’s like they’re having their very own live concert. Running my fingers through the smooth sand with my cuzzys, looking for pipis to eat is really entertaining.

My family and my memories will always be with me at
Waimarama!
