The latest recipients of funding from the Enhanced Access Fund

Another round of EAF grants have been made, and seven groups have been granted a total of $60,681 to use for projects that will create and enhance public access to the outdoors.
The recipients are:
- Whakatane Rotary Club Charitable Trust, who receive $4,800 for signage along Ohiwa Harbour as part of the Ohope Harbourside Trail.
- Bike Walk Marlborough trust, who receive $4,000 for signage to mark access on a new walkway to a lookout in Wither Hills Farm Park.
- Te Awa River Ride Charitable Trust, who receive $25,000 towards survey and legal costs for easements on Te Awa River Ride, the final section of a trail from Hamilton to Cambridge.
- Hikuai District Trust, who receive $8,181 for legal fees and survey costs for the Pauanui Tairua Trail, which it is hoped will eventually stretch from Hikuai to Tairua.
- Bruce Baynon, who receives $5,000 for legal fees and survey costs to formalise existing informal access across private land in the Pearse Valley.
- Awahuri Forest/Kitchener Park Trust, who receive $3,000 for signage on new boardwalks constructed by the Trust around Kitchener Park.
- South Westland Wilderness Trail Trust, who receive $10,700 for an archeologist's report, Heritage NZ consent, survey and legal costs for the Ross-Harihari stage of Te Ara Pounamu, a walking/cycling trail that will link the West Coast Wilderness Trail to the glaciers.
Congratulations to all recipients of funding. Applications for the next round of funding from the Enhanced Access Fund are due on 31 March 2018.
