New Zealanders encouraged to follow the Kiwi way this summer

New Zealanders are being urged to 'follow the Kiwi way' when exploring the great outdoors with friends and family this summer.

New Zealand Walking Access Commission chief executive Mark Neeson said many rural communities faced increased pressure from people wanting to cross their land over the summer months and it was important those accessing rural environments behaved responsibly.

“Over the summer, people take the opportunity to get out of the cities and explore the outdoors. This is a brilliant part of our culture, and the best way to protect it is by respecting the outdoor areas we love to visit.â€
