Judging underway in Top Outdoor Spot competition

A photo of an iconic New Zealand river, a drawing of an idyllic Kiwi beach, and a poem about a family trip to the farm – just some of the entries in the running to win prizes in the Top Outdoor Spot 2015 competition.

This year's competition is now being judged, and with more than 180 entries received, it is the most hotly contested yet. Judging will be completed in early April and winners will be announced in the first week of Term 2.

New Zealand Walking Access Commission Board Chairman John Forbes said the judging panel, made up of the Commission's Board, would have a tough job deciding on the winners.

“Judging the entries is always a highlight. It's wonderful to be able to look at some of our country's top spot through students' eyes – the quality of some of the photos, drawings and descriptions is astounding.â€
