Esplanade strip gives recreation access to Waiau Uwha

The Commission has created a 20-metre wide esplanade strip along part of the Waiau Uwha River, giving people the right to pass over the land beside the river.

Nominations open for 2021 outdoor access champions

The Walking Access Commission is seeking nominations of people and groups who champion public access to the outdoors. Nominations are open until 31 January 2021
